Paris office assisted on PFI’s "Europe Power Deal of the Year" (Exeltium) and "Europe Telecoms Deal of the Year" (GSM-R).
Project Finance International (PFI) recently announced its slate of 2010 deals to be recognized for excellence at its upcoming PFI Awards 2010 gala, which includes two Willkie deals. Willkie’s Paris office advised on the "Europe Power Deal of the Year" and the "Europe Telecoms Deal of the Year." The Power Deal of the Year award recognizes Willkie’s representation of French energy and power company Exeltium in the €1.8 billion financing of its 2010 €4 billion power purchase project with EDF, involving a syndicate of 10 international banks. The deal was handled by Paris partner Amir Jahanguiri. The Telecoms Deal of the Year award recognizes the firm’s work in connection with the representation of the project sponsors (Vinci, AXA, TDF and SFR) in the €1 billion financing of the GSM-Rail project (design, construction, deployment of the GSM telecom network dedicated to the French national railway system). This matter was handled by partners Amir Jahanguiri and Thierry Laloum. PFI is a leading publication covering all aspects and stages of global project finance intelligence. The awards will be presented on January 26 at a special awards ceremony in London.
