Level 3 Communications announces deal to sell Software Spectrum, its wholly-owned subsidiary, to Insight Enterprises Inc. for $287 million in cash.

On July 20, Willkie client Level 3 Communications announced a deal to sell Software Spectrum, its wholly-owned subsidiary, to Insight Enterprises Inc. for $287 million in cash.   Software Spectrum, the world’s largest Microsoft reseller, helps companies select, purchase and manage software.  It services about 5,600 customers in North America, Latin America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.  In recent months, Willkie has advised Level 3 on several transactions including its $1.24 billion deal to acquire TelCove, it’s $165 million acquisition of Looking Glass Networks Inc., its $680 million acquisition of WilTel Communications, and its $880 million offering.  Level 3 is an international communications and information services company, offering a wide range of communications services over its 23,000-mile broadband fiber optic network.  The transaction was handled by partner David Boston and associates Mark Getachew and Andrew Reardon.
