Deloitte Tax LLP announces agreement to sell its Corptax software unit to MLM Information Services LLC, which is owned by private equity firms Warburg Pincus, represented by Willkie, and Mason Slaine.

On June 15, Deloitte Tax LLP announced an agreement to sell its Corptax software unit to MLM Information Services LLC, which is owned by private equity firms Warburg Pincus, represented by Willkie, and Mason Slaine.  Approximately 1,000 corporations and partnerships use the tax software, which Deloitte tax acquired in 1996.  In recent years, the unit has launched ETS, a more sophisticated version of its original income tax software, and has been involved with the Internal Revenue Service’s efforts to transition corporations to filing tax returns electronically.  The transaction includes Deloitte & Touche Tax Technologies LLC and Tax Technology Services, both units of Deloitte Tax.  The deal was handled by partner Steven Gartner and associate William Stelwagon.
