Warburg Pincus completes purchase of Telmar Network Technology, a leading logistics and supply chain broker to the communications industry, from Lightyear Capital LLC. 

On May 1, it was announced that Willkie client  private equity firm Warburg Pincus completed the purchase of Telmar Network Technology from Lightyear Capital LLC.  Irvine, CA-based Telmar, a leading logistics and supply chain broker to the communications industry, was acquired by Lightyear in November 2003 from Stonebridge Partners, which remained as a minority investor.  Subsequently, Telmar acquired Commnet Wireless Supply, Maya Telecom, and several product lines from Alcatel, as well as completed a $50 million dividend recapitalization.   With operations in 11 states and in Brazil, Mexico, Netherlands and Singapore, Telmar refurbishes and distributes switching, transmission and other network equipment to major telecommunications carriers.   The transaction was handled by partners Steven Gartner and Holly Youngwood, and associates Andrew Markus and Sarah Schandler.
