Global Healthcare Exchange and Neoforma announce definitive merger agreement for GHX to acquire Neoforma for total consideration of approximately $200 million.    

On October 11, healthcare software providers Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX) and Neoforma, Inc. announced a definitive merger agreement for GHX to acquire Neoforma for total consideration of approximately $200 million.  Willkie assisted Merrill Lynch & Co., financial advisor to Neoforma, in the transaction.   Both companies offer software that links hospitals and group purchasing organizations to healthcare manufacturers, distributors and other suppliers.   The combined company is expected to offer cost-effective supply chain products and services to improve efficiencies for both healthcare providers and suppliers.  Willkie attorneys on the deal include partner Steven Seidman and associates Matthew Lux and Matthew Guercio.
