In a contested proxy battle, John A. Williams couldn’t win over shareholders of Post Properties Inc. with his dissident slate of directors, thereby failing to regain control of the company he founded. The Daily Deal reports that the former CEO and chairman stuck to his position that the company should explore sale. As of the shareholder’s meeting on May 22, the only offer made came from Willkie client General Investment & Development Co. for $26 per share. Partner Steven Seidman told the Deal that General Investment’s offer continues to remain on the table. Mr. Seidman and partner Stephen Greiner are handling this matter.
