After a 4-day trial and weeks of discovery and depositions, the firm’s bankruptcy and litigation team representing Adelphia Communications Corp. overcame the objection of the Adelphia Equity Committee to the appointment of a new chairman and a new president/COO. The March 5 Daily Deal reported that the bankruptcy judge approved compensation packages for two new executives while ordering the bankrupt cable operator to remove a shareholder-opposed term in the CEO’s contact. Judge Robert Gerber of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York endorsed as reasonable the proposed compensation packages. Court appearances were made by partners Myron Trepper, Marc Abrams, Roger Netzer, Brian O’Connor, and Stephen Greiner, and associates Morris Massel, Mary Manning, Laura Cappiello and Michael Leahy.
