 The January 20th edition of Cable World features Willkie Telecommunications partners Michael H. Hammer and Philip L. Verveer on its “Who’s Who Among D.C. Lawyers and Lobbyists.” The short list of prominent telecom professionals notes that Mr. Hammer and Mr. Verveer have been handling significant antitrust and cable cases for 20 years. The write-up highlights that they played a “major role in the new plug-and-play agreements and helped draft the cable provisions of the Telecom Act.” Mr. Hammer has extensive experience in all aspects of the cable television and video programming industries and Mr. Verveer specializes in communications, antitrust, and administrative law. They served as primary counsel in several large, successful mergers, including AT&T/TCI, AT&T/MediaOne and Comcast/AT&T. Both partners reside in the firm’s Washington office.
