International Trade partners James P. Durling and Daniel L. Porter receive significant exposure in the Korean media for their representation of Hynix Semiconductor in a high profile trade action brought by the United States.
In early November Willkie Partners James P. Durling and Daniel L. Porter received significant exposure in the Korean media for their representation of Hynix Semiconductor in a high profile trade action brought by the United States. In addition to being featured in several Korean national newspapers, Mr. Durling and Mr. Porter were also interviewed in the firm’s new Washington offices by MBC, Korea’s premier television network. At the end of the month, Willkie again received substantial attention in Korea when it was named recipient of the President’s Award for Contribution to Korean International Trade. The award, which is given each year to an organization that makes significant contributions to the advancement of Korea’s international trade position, was presented to Mr. Durling and Mr. Porter in recognition of the firm’s work in defending Korean exporters in trade litigation proceedings, reporting on developments in international trade law and advising the Korean government in multi-lateral trade matters. Willkie was nominated for the award by its client the Korean International Trade Association, the largest business association in Korea, and is the first law firm (Korean or foreign) ever to receive this award. Mr. Durling and Mr. Porter are partners in Willkie’s International Trade Department in Washington D.C.
