This commitment extends to all our clients, including companies, organizations, and individuals. We are sending our clients this Privacy Notice in compliance with a recently enacted federal law regarding the privacy of individuals about whom we obtain nonpublic personal information in connection with services we provide them on certain financial matters.
 
Categories of Nonpublic Personal Information We Collect
 
In the course of providing our clients with tax preparation and tax planning services, real estate settlement services, debt collection services or other services covered by the new law, we may obtain nonpublic personal information about our clients from the following sources, among others:
  • Retainer agreements or other applications or forms;
  • Documentation or other information provided to us by the client or by third parties at the request of the client;
  • Activity in client accounts, such as billing history and balances; and
  • Information about our clients' transactions with us or others.
Confidentiality and Security
 
All nonpublic personal information that we receive about our clients is held in confidence and is not disclosed to third parties, except with the client's consent or as permitted or required by law. We protect our clients' nonpublic personal information by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. In addition, as a law firm, we have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by this new federal law.
