On April 24, Partner Bill Stellmach was the keynote speaker at the 14th Asia Anti-Corruption Compliance Summit, held in Singapore, speaking on “Recent Trends and Investigations in FCPA Enforcement.”
The conference is a premier forum for in-house legal and compliance officers both at foreign companies operating in Asia as well as local entities and government officials.
Bill’s remarks focused on the latest policy initiatives by U.S. enforcement authorities, including DOJ and the SEC. Those policies have included the new Foreign Extortion Prevention Act, efforts to enhance coordination in investigations with foreign enforcement authorities, and the M&A Safe Harbor Policy. He also identified emerging trends, particularly in compliance programs, and offered practical advice on navigating cross-border investigations and mitigating various anti-corruption risks.
