On June 21, partner and Chair of Willkie’s Private Clients Group in Los Angeles Michele Mulrooney, Tax and Entertainment Transactions partner Shane Nix and Asset Management and Willkie Digital Works counsel Michael Selig will speak at the CalCPA Entertainment Industry Conference.
At 9:25 am PT, Shane will lead the discussion on “Character of Gain in Music Catalogue Sales.” Topics under examination will include sale of music rights, backend income streams, trademarks, considerations on music assets and taxation of termination rights.
At 10:50 am PT, Michael will speak in Breakout Session B: “NFT’s and Crypto Regulations Updates,” in which participants will discuss how they have navigated the revolutionary shift of how entertainment and blockchain interact.
At 3:50 pm PT, Michele will speak on the panel “Legislative Outlook and Planning Opportunities,” which will examine legislative outlook, the state of the market and its impact on planning, estate planning and its future, clawback legislation and more.
