Willkie partners Alan Epstein and Shane Nix will participate on panels at the USC Gould School of Law’s 2022 Tax Institute, which runs virtually from January 24 – 26.
On January 24 at 6 pm PST, Alan and Shane will speak on the panel “Entertainment Industry Tax Update.”
On January 25 at 3 pm PST, Shane will speak on the panel “Planning for Capital Gains,” which will focus on structuring transactions to maximize capital gain. Topics will include holding period considerations, capital gain considerations in connection with the sale of intellectual property, substitute for ordinary income doctrine and considerations related to real estate (trade/business versus investment).
