On October 1, at 2 pm ET, Cybersecurity & Privacy co-chairs Laura Jehl and Daniel Alvarez will speak at “The Growing Role of State Attorneys General in Privacy and Cybersecurity Enforcement,” at the Privacy + Security Forum Fall Academy 2021.
For many years, state AGs have played an important role in privacy and cybersecurity enforcement, but recent developments at both the federal and state levels have reinforced and expanded the critical role played by these officials. This panel will examine those developments – including recent Supreme Court developments, the California Attorney General’s recently issued CCPA enforcement report, enforcement under the new Virginia and Colorado privacy laws, and the raft of updates to state data breach notification and data security laws that have taken on added significance with the dramatic increase in ransomware attacks and other cyber incidents – and what they mean for companies trying to operate across state lines.
